Algonac Junior/Senior High School enrolls about 750 students in grades 6-12. The school is proud of its long-standing tradition and reputation for being a rigorous, positive and welcoming educational environment. Algonac offers a number of extracurricular activities, including NHS, student council, book club, robotics, and various community service organizations.
The school’s student-teacher ratio is 21:1, and their mascot is the muskrat.
Home to just over 4,000 residents, Algonac is located at the southern end of the St. Clair River on the eastern border of Michigan. The city is known for its rich nautical history and shoreline activities. Past advisers' favorite places to hang out are by the water - people are always out on their boats, fishing, kayaking, and generally enjoying the outdoors - and at the local coffee shop, the Lighthouse Cafe. It is a small-town community where everyone stands behind one another - when someone experiences a hardship, the community helps get them through it.
