Mason County Central and Mason County Eastern

Mason County, Michigan

Mason County is situated on the west side of Michigan along the Lake Michigan shore. The area is known for its beautiful beaches and outdoor activities - including but not limited to swimming, fishing, kayaking, and hiking. Central High School, located in Scottville, Michigan, and Eastern High School, located in Custer, Michigan, are both small, rural communities. College Advisers have actually lived next door to a dairy farm!

The two schools are only three miles apart, but they serve students from over 450 square miles. Mason County has its own Promise Scholarship, where eligible students can earn two years of free tuition at West Shore Community College.

The schools boast a handful of notable alumni – Maynard Keenan, the lead singer and primary vocalist of the rock bands Tool, A Perfect Circle, and Puscifer, is a graduate of Mason County Central. Advisers boast of the community's natural beauty - Ludington State Park and downtown Ludington are both fun to explore, as well as local shops like HumaniTea and the Windowsill Bookstore
