Navigating college is like learning a new language. As someone who had to navigate that process alone, I chose to serve with MSUCAC to be a translator and support system to students who are lacking those vital resources and might otherwise fall through the cracks.
Ama began her college journey as an English major, with hopes to become a high school teacher. But as many first-generation students do, she had doubts about her plan and switched majors. She never lost her passion for education though, so after graduating from MSU with an Interpersonal Communication degree, she began serving with MSUCAC! With the experience she's gained mentoring and advocating for her students, she plans to pursue an MSW from the University of Michigan beginning Fall 2026.
Fun Fact: Ama went to Coachella 2023!
Ama graduated from MSU in 2024.
