I chose to become a part of MSUCAC because I remember what it felt like to be 16 or 17 years old in my senior year of high school with absolutely no sense of direction. At that age, you are expected to make decisions about your future without fully understanding the steps it takes to get there. It can be overwhelming and scary, and I remember feeling unsure about where to begin. I also did not fully understand the true cost of college at the time. Looking back now, I wish I had known more about financial aid and scholarships, because I would have applied for more opportunities and worked harder to reduce the cost of my education. This experience is one of the main reasons I am so passionate about my role today. Helping students understand the cost of college and supporting them in finding ways to save as much money as possible is incredibly important to me. There is so much uncertainty surrounding college and life at that age. Choosing a path and figuring out the steps needed to reach your goals can feel overwhelming. Through MSUCAC, my goal is to provide students with the guidance, support, and encouragement that I wish I had, so they feel confident, informed, and prepared for their future.

After graduating from Algonac High School, where I am now proud to serve as the College Adviser, I began my college journey at St. Clair County Community College. There, I completed the Michigan Transfer Agreement (MTA) and went on to transfer to Central Michigan University, where I studied psychology. While my future educational plans are still undecided, I am excited and open to wherever my journey takes me next.

Fun Fact: I’m a cinema head who loves movies and tries to watch at least two every week.

Jane graduated from Central Michigan University in 2025.
