"From what Shaurice's has learned so far on this journey called life, life has been very satisfying. Choosing to be part of MSUCAC has helped in many ways and a part of that satisfaction as well. She remembers being stressed out and unsure of her own post-secondary education after high school. She believes that students should be given the opportunity to create their own, and she is willing to help and work very hard towards creating better experiences for students. She uses this experience to help with students and people in general and serve her community."
Working in the healthcare field has been challenging but rewarding. Coming from working in the field of Behavioral Technician, being an Intern with Peckham Inc - Flint, a recent alum from City Year - Detroit, and now currently working with MSUCAC. This journey has given Shaurice the opportunity to create an amazing foundation of sharing her own experiences to others who look like her. Also, being aware of what opportunities --- students may not know about, and very glad to be the beneficial support system to them along their journey of decision-making. She is interested in a career of Psychology and being a part of MSUCAC will be an exceptional chance to create practices of effective communication, interpersonal connections and active listening.
Fun Fact: Traveling is my favorite form of self-care.
Shaurice graduated from MSU in 2023.
