Juan Vazquez-Hernandez

Interdisciplinary Studies

Community Served
"As an Adviser I have the opportunity to empower the students' stories of adversity and success, learn valuable lessons from each of the students and their families, and be part of a bigger impact in their community."

With Juan's internship experience with UnidosUS Higher Education Policy organization, he came into the college advising role with prior experience in financial aid and post-secondary persistence, particularly for Latino graduates. He has a passion for supporting underrepresented students, and looks forward to utilizing his skills to help students at West Ottawa High School. When Juan was in high school, he was interested in college but faced a lot of self-doubt and fear - so he hopes he will be able to be a mentor for students facing those same challenges. Long term, Juan is interested in a career in academic advising.

Juan is from Mulberry, Florida, and graduated from MSU in May 2022.
