A place for everyone
MSUCAC places Advisers in a variety of schools across the state of Michigan to help guide students and families with college preparation. Advisers help students submit applications to four-year or two-year institutions and trade or technical schools that align with the best match and fit for each student.
Communities we serve
Our Advisers serve students in rural, suburban, and city schools and we assist in finding the right school placement for each individual. MSUCAC clusters our schools in areas across the Lower Peninsula so advisers can easily collaborate with peers within the same region. Clusters include Ionia/Montcalm, Ingham County, Detroit Area Schools, Muskegon County, Newaygo County, Petoskey Area, and St. Clair County.
What to expect
MSUCAC College Advisers:
- Meet one-on-one with high school students and help them navigate the complex world that is college admissions and financial aid.
- Plan college rep visits and college tours in conjunction with other school staff.
- Give presentations and offer workshops for students and caregivers to better understand the steps necessary for college attendance.
- Serve to enhance and/or develop college-going cultures within schools and communities.
- Participate within a network of local, state, and national organizations devoted to improving college access for high school students.
